I`ve started spending a lot of time again at Concordia University downtown. I have a new job at the Concordia Greenhouse, so before and after I head there, I hang out around campus.
There`s a lot of rad stuff going in in that little area, so I thought I`d share some great spots to check out! And without further ado...

COOL PLACES TO CHECK OUT:

The Greenhouse
Offering a public lounge area amongst the plants, PWYC workshops and internships. You can buy cheap teas grown on the Loyola campus and volunteer to learn more about urban agriculture.

Concordia Book Co-oP
With a large array of awesome and intriguing book titles, you can also buy school supplies, zines, art and calendars, at all great rates. Especially if you`re a member of the co-operative.

2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy
The centre offers resource and peer support for gender and sexuality. They often host workshops, film screenings, and have hosted zine fairs and guest speakers in the past.

QPIRG Concordia
The Quebec Public Interests Research Group is a centre which offers a wide variety of resources to the student and community population. Addressing intersectionality between environmental, social, economic and political issues of the past and present, with a goal of aiding those who seek change to become empowered with community and information.

People`s Potato
The Potato serves around 400 meals daily to the student and community who come by weekdays during the school year from 12:30-2pm. Meals are always healthy and vegan. BYO Bowl!

Frigo Vert/ Cafe
Self-proclaimed as an anti-capitalist store, Frigo Vert brings you organic and fair trade food at accessible prices. Grab a cheap coffee, and chill in their Cafe in the back!

Burritoville
This vegetarian Burrito-based eatery provides a space open to all who love food, music and art.
All meals are homemade using organically grown and locally produced foods, and waste is minimized through composting, recycling and using biodegradable packaging.

Green Panther
Voted as Montreal's best vegtarian restaurant, The Panther offers healthy, natural and tasty food. You won`t find any tvp here, but lots of juices, soup and vegan wraps!

Sustainability Food Fair
This is a great foodie event rich with information, resources, and tasty treats. The fair is an all-day outdoor festival which brings together local restaurants, farmers, stores, and community and University organizations on the downtown Concordia campus. Starts 10:30am-ish and ends 9pm-ish. Also check out the bike-in film, workshops, speakers and other yearly specialties.
